Well we finally left BSM around 2PM today after Bill worked his
tail off getting everything ready for our trip. It’s hard to believe it has been
a year since our first cruise to the Keys. Our departure was not without some drama. I had trouble getting the spring line on the hook, and the boat hook fell in the water and I almost followed in after it. We had been
talking to a nice couple from Germany just getting off their boat in the next
slip, and that nice man saved the day. He dove in the water, retrieved the boat hook, and handed it up to me. I was so bummed that I made such a
mess of it. This boat stuff will never come easy to me, but I will keep
trying. No sailing today as the wind was right on our nose. We motored to Pelican Bay and arrived around 4:30pm. Charlie was a good boy, but no potty yet on the boat. First night traditional dinner: grilled cheese and tomato soup! Tomorrow we will head for Fort Meyers Beach.
It rained on us at the dock as we did final loading of the boat. But stopped
